A New Era in WWE?

It seems unlikely, however it was announced that the WWE will be inducting Ricky Morton and Robert Gibson into the WWE Hall of Fame as part of the class of 2017.

The Rock N Roll Express, as Gibson and Morton were known in the NWA and WCW, are perhaps two of the most unlikely men to be inducted. Their careers are were not made in the WWF or WWE.  Is this a sign of things to come? Will more non-WWE wrestlers finally be inducted into the Hall of Fame?

With the induction of the Rock N Roll Express is there hope that The Midnight Express may be inducted someday?  What about The Russian Nightmare Nikita Koloff?  Or maybe The Russian Bear Ivan Koloff, I mean he did defeat Bruno Sammartino in 1971 at MSG to end his 7 year title run.

One can only wonder if this is a sign that the WWE is finally recognizing talent that made wrestling great, not just the WWE?  Or is this just wishful thinking?
